Research & Education
As medical cannabis develops towards greater acceptance within the community, the Research & Education committee works to cement such developments by creating educational tools and identifying areas for future study. As the other committees provide data and recommendations, we consolidate these materials to better inform and empower our patients and providers. We also reach out to the community beyond our patients, to better educate them about the medicine and the people who rely upon it. We also identify areas where research is thin or unavailable as we strive to minimize impacts upon the environment and build a sustainable, compassionate industry.
We are currently working on four objectives:
- Training, outreach and organizational development. [WPM][IPM][EPM]
- Define a list of warnings & contraindications and develop an educational campaign which addresses potency, contamination, drug interactions and other concerns. [WPM][IPM][EPM]
- Study the environmental impacts of PCCs, IMCs, & EMCs. [WPM][IPM][EPM]
- Determine other research goals to explore the possibilities of cannabis medicines. [WPM][IPM][EPM]
